LASER stands for Light Amplification by Stimulated Emission of Radiation.
It uses a pulsed beam of focused light to create a microscopic weld. The laser beam is fixed in one position under a microscope. This means the work piece needs to be adjusted to the laser beam by a movable table or arm that is calibrated to the machine. No pre-heat or post-heat is required.
The benefits of laser welding is that it offers a precise pinpoint weld with very little distortion.
